Here are the steps to follow when adding an audio or music file to your Wordpress blog when using the PodPress plugin.
The first step is to upload your media file by clicking the small music notes icon. After uploading, don’t worry about inserting into the post.

Next, you want to scroll down the add/edit post page until you see the Podcasting Files section. Click Add Media File to start the process.

Now you’ll see the screen change and more options will be displayed on your screen. Go to the Location drop-down menu and find the file you just uploaded. Be sure to also add the Title as well.

Finally, you should click on Auto Detect to the right of both Size and Duration, and then you can go ahead and publish your post!

When working on our Wordpress theme here, I was looking for a way to create a more custom widget than the default Categories widget, without having much know-how when it comes to Wordpress plugin design. But Google comes to the rescue: this great tutorial from Lonewolf Online on how to create a simple, custom plugin w/ widget. Then you can go crazy with template tags in widgets, even if you are not a pro with plugin creation.
